Banners

We've added two banners to the shop this week with more to come soon.

We are taking custom orders so if there is a celebration coming up that you would like to decorate with a banner for, let us know! There are tons of options for wording...team names, personalized banners, seasonal greetings, summer activities and on and on...prices will vary depending on length.

Winter decided to show it's face again here in TN so the wagon has been put away until the sun shines again and we can go outside without having 12 layers on.

Stay warm!

Big Girl Toy

I have been busy here at Nesting in Pleasant View. We had our first sale at our etsy shop (it's empty now but won't be soon!) and since then have been working to make a couple more banners to get in the shop by the middle of the week. With a one-year-old it takes a bit longer than I thought. Anna Claire wants to be right there with me and feels the need to come and park herself directly under the table. After realizing she doesn't know how to get out of the maze of the chair legs, she then proceeds to play with the foot pedal. Christy has also been working on some banners for SPRING!

We have recovered from the snow that crippled our little town and the big city...which also left no more school days to be used for bad weather. The school system must now begin making up days into the summer break. The sun did make an appearance this weekend with warm temperatures and a chance for this little girl to get out and use her birthday present for the first time.

I can't believe how big she is getting. Her first tooth is coming in, her wobbly legs are getting more steady as she works herself around the furniture, she ate a Goldfish for the first time yesterday (no more "baby" snacks for her!) and she likes catfish (who would have thought?).

Will be back soon with a couple of things to share for the shop!

I'll call it "the Monday post" because I can't think of anything else

Well, the cookies are almost gone and so are the rice krispy treats and brownies that we somehow accumulated from a Saturday night with friends. So for now, I'm sitting enjoying my Valentine flowers from my husband.

Have a happy Monday!

PS. We had our first sale at Pleasant View Home!!! We are so excited and will be putting some more things in the shop in the coming week!

What I Am Loving About Valentine's Day This Year

That my mom decided to give me all of her cookie cutters when she moved, which included no less than 10 different sized hearts

1 year old

Our prayer for you today, on your 1st birthday, is that you would know Jesus and His saving grace at an early age and, that as your parents, we would be an example before you of what it looks like to love Him with your heart, soul and mind.

Happy Birthday sweet girl, our beautiful Anna Claire!

Happy Birthday (early)

This weekend, we celebrated a bit early for Anna Claire's 1st birthday! It was such a special night as friends and family packed into our house and garage (thanks to some heaters) for some chili and cupcakes. I never thought planning and pulling off a birthday party for a 1 year old would be so exhausting, but it was all worth it to see the purple icing on my sweet girl's face.

She was a bit timid at the first bite but as soon as she realized that is good, she couldn't get enough!

She is her daddy's girl--she received a purple ball glove, a chair for the ball field and a bat and ball.

She received girlie presents too...

My mom handmade this Waldorf doll for Anna Claire and she came complete with a wardrobe and sleeping sack.

As I look towards Wednesday, her actual birthday, I am continually thankful to the Lord for her first year of life and for entrusting us with this beautiful little girl.

We are OPEN!

When I stated my goals for 2010 I didn't realize that it would take to me to this place...ETSY! Our shop is open for business.

Christy and I decided to do it together knowing that what one does, the other isn't far behind...as you can tell from our blogs :) Right now we only have one item up, but as we see what the response is, there will be more to come. We are both very excited and can't wait to hear and see what people think of our new shop.

We are taking custom orders (specific color schemes, announcements, etc.) so if you do have a question about something, please ask!

Don't I Look Pretty?

Thanks to my beautiful and talented sister, Christy, I'm loving my new blog look! A makeover always makes a girl feel special!

Another change you might notice is that all of my pictures and text are now protected (see copyright info on the sidebar). This means that you can come here and enjoy the pictures I have, and read the blurbs, stories, etc. that I write, but nothing can be removed from the site without permission. I did this for two reasons--1. privacy and protection for my photos so that they cannot be cut and pasted somewhere else and 2. (this is a fun reason) I am going to be opening up an etsy store. Since the store will be linked to my blog, I wanted to protect the pictures I might take of anything I make and vice versa, of anything I post.

I had so much fun making Anna Claire's birthday banner I made another one to see if there might be someone out there who would want to add some fun to their birthday decorations. I only have one made right now but if there seems to be a lot of interest, I'll begin to make more in different colors and patterns. I am so excited about this! I will link to the store as soon as I have it up and running.

Okay, business aside...this is what I've been working on to get ready for Anna Claire's 1 year birthday party! I wanted something other than streamers to decorate with, and I found these through Monica's blog. These were so fun, cheap and easy to make. I'll share a tutorial soon. All you need is some tissue paper and pipe cleaners. I'm going to have them hanging pretty much everywhere.

As you read in my last post, we are having cupcakes for the party. I wanted to do something different for a cupcake topper so I took some leftover fabric from the birthday banner, make some yo-yos and sewed them onto popsicle sticks. So cute!

And here is the almost 1 year old! Bed head and all!
