My New Favorite Place

Have you been to one yet? It is a consignment store for maternity, baby and children's clothing. Plus they have a full line of cribs, car seats and more. I've read recently that more and more people are shopping consignment due to the economy and let me tell you, it's totally worth it!

I have bought the majority of my maternity clothes there at great prices (shirts for around $7, pants for $10). During my last trip there, I couldn't resist looking at the baby clothes.

When I mean I couldn't resist, I mean I also couldn't resit buying a couple of things. The onsies were $1.50 each and the pants were $1. Who can beat that? They have nice brands too...these are all Carter.

I guess I need to go back and get a couple of boy outfits...just in case!

PS. It's somebody's birthday on Monday! (hint...hint...it's christy--aka my sister-- at Between Here and Home). Be sure to stop by and wish her a happy day on the 27th.

Hi! I didn't realize that store was a chain! We have one here. It is so nice!

You might have already figured it out but you might need to go back to this post and edit it. Go to post options at the end and correct the date to show today. Then it will be displayed at the top of your blog. :)

Looks like I was a bit early wishing your sis a Happy B-day! I will stop back on Monday... it's always great to celebrate for a few days!

Darling outfits... My sister always frequented Once Upon a Child!

Yes, I love consignment. I actually used to own my own consignment store!

Sarah, 11 years ago when I lived in Alabama, I would save my money so when we visited Pennsylvania (family) I could go to "Once Upon A Child".. it was my mainstay for getting Katie her clothes. The key is finding one in a more "upscale" town, and you get better selection.

I can't wait to see your baby in May, and we can certainly do pictures for sure! Thanks for the compliment on Jessica's pics, but she is a beautiful girl, so it is hard to take a bad picture of her.

Gee, that is terrific and how cute too! Good for you. When the twins were little, we were in a small town and it didn't have this option.

This was one of my favorite stores when my kid's were little.

And, you are right, you can find some GREAT deals!!!!!

I LOVE what you've picked out.

I have always bought from the OUAC in my town and recently decided to consign my maternity clothing. I took in a huge tub of items that were in good condition, some brand new (worn once - I didn't wear them so much because I ended up in the hospital/on bedrest for 13 weeks). OUAC only chose 4 items and paid me $10. I was sorely disappointed with this. I wear a 8 or 10, and had lots of M and L sizes. . . so it's not like the sizes were hard to sale.

Private, non-chain consignment shops, I've found, tend to give better service than OUAC and Plato's Closet.

Still, good bargains to be found at OUAC!
