***I want to first thank all of you for your comments regarding my last post. I am so blessed to have you as my blog friends. Your words have brought comfort to me the past few days when I have needed them the most. Our time at the cemetery was very peaceful. The luminaries were beautiful and we were able to connect with several other families who have lost babies over the last few years.
Now....Being on a budget gives you the opportunity to be creative with gifts. This year, for some of my gifts to neighbors, Mike's co-workers and friends, I wanted to make something homemade and yummy.
I started with Mercken chocolate. I buy it at speciality candy and cake stores. I melt it down to dipping consistency. When it was melted, I poured it into a drinking glass. I know what you are thinking...that is a strong pregnancy craving....melted chocolate straight out of the glass...
Then I took some of these.

What a great idea! I will have to try those - they look very good!
Mmm! If I give you our address, can you scoot on over to White House and leave a bag in our mailbox? ;) PS -- I need to respond to your email. Some of our best friends went to Tacoa and I wonder if you knew them...but more of that later. The pretzels look delish and I think I must go find a Reese cup!
better bring some of those home with you:)
Those look so gourmet! I bet they taste delicious!
I love that idea!! That packaging is very cute too!

The TIgers and I were talking about making these. Glad we haven't yet because yours look better than what I had in mind. :)

OH YUMMO! Those look excellent and so pretty wrapped in those cello bags!
We make cream puffs for our neighbors! The recipe is out of my 1940's Betty Crocker Cookbook (belonged to my Grandma and I treasure it)!
I am also making those coasters out of tiles your sister made earlier in the year. Actually the first 10 sets I made... my husband took to our church's holiday bazaar and sold 8 sets! So I have to make more this weekend!
The pretzels look so yummy! My little ones would love them w/ red and green sprinkles. I might give them a try. My friends and neighbors are getting cookie mix in a jar and tile coasters. The coasters look great tied w/ a Christmas ribbon.
I just happen to stumble across your blog and so glad too meet you. Have been enjoying your photos and post. Those chocolate covered pretzel stick have just given me another idea for the holiday...thanks
Sondra
