Our Little Snuggle Bug

We should find out today when Anna Claire gets to come home. The doctor gave some hints that it would be by the end of the week.
On the night prior to coming home, the hospital allows the parents to "room in" with the baby in a room off of the NICU. This helps ease into the transition and also to give the parents some reassurance. The nurses and doctors are available if we need them, but Anna Claire won't be hooked up to anything.

She passed her first two tests yesterday and her father, who is also a teacher, couldn't be more proud. She passed her hearing test and her car seat test as well. She looked so small in the car seat!!!
Hopefully the next post will news of her coming home!!!
Thank you for continuing to pray for our sweet girl and family!

I could scream, I'm so excited...but I have a sleeping baby, so I guess I won't. Please let us all know when you'll be heading home. I know we still won't be able to visit, but the joy of knowing you will be home with your sweet girl....VERY EXCITING!!!

Hi Sarah. You don't know me but I found your blog from a friend of a friend of a friend. lol I guess that happens in blog world. Anyway I just wanted to stop by and say that your daughter is beautiful! Also, you are not alone. My daughter was born at 27 weeks. She spent 11 weeks in the NICU, and she came home this past Oct. So we know all about the ups and downs of having a baby in the NICU. In fact I think the time right before she came home was more frustrating and nerve wracking than the very beginning. :) I remember the day they told us to bring in her carseat for her carseat challenge like it was yesterday. She came home the very next day! So it shouldn't be too much longer for your little one. Even though we were so excited to bring our daughter home, I also remember being terrified too. Even though we already had two children, the thought of taking care of such a small "preemie" was very overwhelming and it was only by the grace of God we had the strength to get through it all and that my daughter survived through it all!:) If you would like to read my daughter's story feel free to stop by my blog. Also, if you have any questions, comments, or just want to talk to another NICU Mommy please feel free to email me.

God Bless!

Hey Sarah,
I got your blog address from Addie. I hope that's okay. I just wanted you to know that George and I were thinking of you, Mike, and your precious new baby girl. We praise God for the safe arrival of Anna Claire and for how merciful and loving He has been in her development. She is beautiful and we will continue to keep her in our prayers...Emily from Calvary Bible Church
