True Love

Our little girl is taking it one day at a time. She has begun digesting her food more regularly (which will mean more poopies!) and maintaining a good weight. She continues to have "spells" which essentially is apnea (where she stops breathing) for a minute or so sporadically. This is normal for preemies, but in order for her to be able to go home, she has to be "spell free" for at least 7 days straight. So far today, she hasn't had one, which is good news!

She is still under the lights for jaundice and her bilirubin count is still high but hopefully with the digestion issues behind us, this will resolve itself soon. The nurses have said that it might take a couple of days for this to happen.

The baby across from Anna Claire just got moved up to a regular crib and I was so hopeful watching them transition the little guy, knowing that her day will come soon!

The nurses talk so positively about her and how she is doing, but everyday I wake up to an empty nursery that is waiting for her. Yesterday I sat for about 2 1/2 hours just looking at her and journaling so I wouldn't forget (not that I think I could) what these moments have been like. She changes everyday and I am trying to remember that everyday that goes by just brings us one more day closer to her coming home.

Look at our sweet Valentine!!!

PS. Thank you to all of you are praying and checking in to my blog! Keep praying!!!! I am trying to catch up with emails and posting comments, so even if you don't hear from me, know that we appreciate each and every one of you. Hopefully this next week I will have some time to sit down and reply to everyone!

Still praying. We ate your chicken pot pie, but I promise, you'll be getting one when you are all home. Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentines Day! I just "happened" upon your blog and thought I would leave you a post. I too am a preemie mom. My little one was a "32 weeker" so I know what you are going through. My Foster was exactly 8 weeks early and weighed in a whopping 3 pounds, 11 ounces. We spent four weeks in the NICU before coming home. Apnea was our issue as well but it truly is amazing how each hour they improve. I will be praying for you guys-I know what you are dealing with and my heart goes out to you and your husband. Please check us out sometime, You'll see another example of just how good GOD is-Foster will be 2 in June. She hasn't missed a beat and your little one won't eaither!!

Hi Sarah~
Oh my goodness! I didn't even know you'd had your little girl! She is beautiful! :) I am so glad she is doing well, and I will definitely be praying for her and you both, too!

The pictures you have posted are so familiar~ our son was born at 29 weeks exactly, weighing 2 pounds, 14 ounces. The doctors said this was a lot for his gestation...and now he is well on his way towards his 12th birthday! But I remember how eagerly we awaited being able to bring him home! I know how you feel! It was always so hard to leave him.

Again, she is such a beautiful baby! Have a good night. :)

Sarah and Darron,
I have just viewed your blog and little Anna Claire is just beaufiful.Frankie and I grew up together and we have renewed our friendship over the last 1 1/2 years. She is a great person and loves you all so much. I have followed your trials and your happiness through Frankie and I want to say God is good. I am so happy for you. I love your blog and will look at it and enjoy it on a regular basis. May God bless your family in years to come and bring you much happiness with your little angel!
